Quantum XL 5000 is Singer's answer to the ultimate computerized embroidery sewing machine. This machine has a full-color, three-dimensional LCD screen with pictogram and icon-based menus. It can be connected directly to your Internet-capable computer in order to gain access to the vast selection of available designs. If easy access to a computer is not available, the included XL-5000 converter tool can be used with the machine to access designs from floppy disks or CDs-ROM. Over 100 embroidery designs come built into the machine, along with a number of alphabet fonts in sizes from 7 mm to 60 mm.
Large floral monogramming patterns appropriate for linens and garments are provided as well. Singer's most versatile machine to date, this one will resize embroidery patterns from 90 to 120 percent. It also rotates designs on-screen in very tiny increments and offers 52 memories for storing pattern sequences and combinations with up to 120 characters. The full range of color capability allows this machine to turn out intricate designs with up to 128 colors in a single hoop. The endless bobbin feature replaces bobbin thread automatically and prevents the troublesome errors that can occur when these threads run out mid-design.
This machine has automatic threading and built-in scissors.

Like most elaborate embroidery machines, this one does a fabulous job of embroidery, but does not offer all the features you may want in a simple sewing machine. If your interest is in advanced, complicated sewing projects as well as in embroidery, you may want to supplement this machine with a well-featured sew-only model.
