A common problem with old machines is your socket pins may have been pushed in due to the size of your exising lead (table mounted or in a cary case etc.), singer only make the one lead now, the longer socket. if your pins have been pushed in you need to cut half a centermeter off the rubber connector to allow enough clearence for the socket to make contact with your pins. there is about a 5% chance this has happened to your machine over the years, if you prefere we can do this for you call us on 01325 463630
